“The children whirled around Grandpa Octopus’ head, dashing this way and that around his collection of books. “I want this one!” Little Blue said as she pulled on one of Grandpa’s many tentacles. Tiny Orange pulled on Grandpa’s pipe while his sister, Teeny Orange curled up on his chest and seemed to fall asleep.

“No!” Orange Bean said. “This one!” Grandpa adjusted his glasses as the children darted everywhere and anywhere they could. Fidgety Blue even sat on his bowl of ice cream.

“Ohoho,” Grandpa said as he collected his pipe from Tiny Orange. “Now, now.” Grandpa grabbed his spoon and gently lifted Fidgety Blue from his bowel. “We can only read one at a time.” He noticed Orange Pop falling down onto his eyes and lifted him up onto his brow. The children kept prodding and pulling and both Grandpa himself and the books around him. He collected a sizeable blue tome from the shelf and opened the pages. Little Blue fluttered down onto one of the pages, lifting Grandpa’s tentacle.

“What about this one?” Orange Bean said as he pushed another book down from the top shelf.

Grandpa sucked it up with his tentacle. “Maybe after this one?” he said as he put his pipe in his mouth and lightly blew on it. “Come now, children. Gather round.”

Then the fish appeared. “What’s going on here?” one said as the children began to settle.

“Storytime,” Tiny Orange said.

Grandpa looked over and laughed. “My grandchildren came to visit, but I’m afraid I’m a bit out of my depth. Come lend me a fin, would you?”
